Courtney & Da Boyz Costa Rica Adventure!!!

Day 1 ---- Arrive & Stay at La Condesa (La Condesa)
Welcome to Costa Rica

Today Costa Rica will welcome Courtney and the Boys from NYC! The country wont be the same after they leave and its going to be a week to remember. We will meet you outside the airport with your private guide and driver. We will take you to the first hotel where you will have dinner waiting for you upon arrival.

Day 2 ---- Drive to Sitio de Mata Village Turrialba (Turrialtico)

Today we will make the drive to the Turrialtico hotel which is located on the hills outside the valley of Turrialba. Here you will have breath-taking views of the Turrialba Volcano. In the afternoon we will be visiting the village of Sitio de Mata where you will have the chance to start your community service project. With the size of you boys we plan on having something pretty labor intense so get ready! (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 3 ---- Full Day Community Service (Turrialtico)

This is full day of community service. We will continue working on the project. In the evening the village wants to put on a show of local dance and traditional food. This will be a night to remember after a long hard day of work.

Day 4 ---- Morning Work & Afternoon Raft to River Lodge (Pacuare Ecolodge)

Today we will spend the morning finishing our community services project and then make our way to the Pacuare River. We will be rafting in the afternoon and arrive to the Pacuare Ecolodge in the evening. Here you will be staying in the jungle and their is no better place for team building and having some hangout time like this remote ecolodge.

In the evening we will have a bon-fire and sleep to the sounds of the jungle. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 5 ---- Zipline, Tarzan Swing, Rappel, & Tubing (Pacuare Ecolodge)

This is a full day of fun and adventure and a chance to relax at the ecolodge. We will start by ziplining on cables through the rainforest, rappeling down a tree into the river, and enjoying one of Costa Rica's largest tarzan swings known.

In the evening it is another night in the jungle with a chance for some great team building. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 6 ---- Raft Pacuare Canyon & Drive to Arenal Volcano (Los Lagos Resort)

Today we will raft the Pacuare River canyon the most adventurous part of the river. This is considered one of the most beautiful sections of the river. In the afternoon we will drive the Arenal Volcano where you will stay at the luxurious Los Lagos Resort and a chance to soak in the thermal waters from the volcano. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 7 ----- Visit Nearby Waterfall and Relax at Resort (Los Lagos Resort)

Today we will visit a nearby waterfall and a chance to swim in one of Costa Rica's most picturesque
waterfalls. The rest of the day is your time to relax at the hotsprings after a full week of fun and play! (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 8 ----- Fly Home!

Today we will drive you to the airport to catch your flight home! (Meals: Breakfast)

Dach's Family Costa Rica Adventure 2014

Day 1 --- Arrive & Drive to Turrialba (Casa Turire Standard)
Welcome Mark & Family to Costa Rica


Today you will be met at the San Jose Airport (SJO) airport by your private guide and driver. We will transport you to the Turrialba area where you will stay at the luxurious small boutique hotel of Casa Turire. This is one of our favorites in the country. It sits on a lake and has excellent views of the smoking Turrialba Volcnao. 

When you arrive to the hotel you will have time to relax and enjoy the pool, hot-tub, and one of the best tasting restaurants in all of Costa Rica where I highly recommend the sugar-cane ice-cream. (Meals: None)


Day 2 --- Raft Pacuare River (Casa Turire Standard)

Today we will take you on the nearby Pacuare River which is considered by National Geographic as one of the top 3 most scenic rivers on the planet. The river is running low during the months of June and makes for a great run with still some adventurous rapids but nothing to get you tossed out. The scenery is epic from start to finish riding down primary rainforest with canyon walls that rise straight up 300ft and 200ft waterfalls that fall into the river. We will run this trip privately for you and the family and prepare a river lunch for you along the way.

In the afternoon it is back to the Casa Turire Hotel where you can relax and take a siesta. In the evening we can take you out to one of our favorite local spots for dinner where we take you back into the kitchen and learn the skills of making a tortilla and have a traditional family style Costa Rican dinner. Day 3 --- Drive to Arenal Volcano (Nayara -  Casita Deluxe)

Today is a travel day as we will make our way to the famous Arenal Volcano. This is the perfectly cone-shaped volcano of Arenal and a must-see in Costa Rica. The drive to the area is beautiful and we will make some stops along the way at different fruit stands and some other interesting areas to break up the drive.

When we arrive to the Arenal Volcano we will be staying at the Nayara Resort which is one of the finest in Costa Rica and flexible dates we think we can get you in. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 4 -- Zipline Adventure (Nayara -  Casita Deluxe)

Today we will get back to some adventure with the chance to zipline through the rainforest on cables that hang 700ft high above the rainforest and offer amazing views of the Arenal Lake and the Arenal Volcano. With over 50 different ziplines in the country this is still by far our favorite.

In the afternoon we can head back to the hotel and enjoy the gardens and pools. In the evening we can head into the town of La Fortuna and make a reservation at one of our favorite places to eat and have a night in the town before heading back to the Nayara Resort. Day 5 --- Canyoneering Adventure (Nayara - Casita Deluxe)

We have a number of options of what to do today from visiting some spots to see some wildlife or continuing on the path of adventure with the canyoneering. This is an event that will have us heading down a tropical canyon and arriving to 5 different waterfalls where we hook up and rappel down the waterfalls. Sounds extreme but we have taken kids as young as 5 on this adventure. If you wanted a rest from the adventure we could easily fill the day with hikes, kayaking on the lake, wildlife boat-floats, hanging bridges, mountain biking, horseback riding, organic farm tour, and the list goes on. 

In the evening we will have some time for dinner at the hotsprings allowing everyone to enjoy the evening of soaking in the thermal waters of the nearby hotsprings. (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 6 --- Drive to Manuel Antonio (Arenas del Mar - Ocean View Premium Suite)

Today is another travel day and we will be changing hotels. You will be traveling from the Arenal area to the Manuel Antonio area one of Costa Rica finest beaches. Here you will be staying at the Arenas del Mar Resort which is another one of our favorite spots. The views are phenomenal and the places is surrounded with wildlife. Still more monkeys than people at this hotel. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 7 --- Surf Lessons Arenas del Mar - Ocean View Premium Suite - Surfing Lessons
Today you will have the chance to test your luck with a Quicksilver contract as we take you for surf lessons. This is a morning in the sun and sand and a perfect beach to learn how to surf.

In the afternoon it is back to the hotel to relax or we can continue trying the skills on the waves.

In the evening we can take you out to eat at one of our favorite spots in the area. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 8 --- Beach Day (Arenas del Mar - Ocean View Premium)

Today is a day to relax and finish your book you brought on vacation or take part in some optional tours. Your guide can hike you into the nearby Manuel Antonio National Park where you can see plenty of wildlife or you can relax on the beach at the hotel and just do your best invitation of a sloth. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 9 --- Fly Home!

Today we will make the two hour drive back to the San Jose Airport (SJO). (Meals: Breakfast)

Hildner Costa Rica Adventure 2014

Welcome Hildner's to Costa Rica!
July 1 -- Arrive and Drive to Arenal Volcano (Tabacon Resort or Manoa Resort)

Today you will be met outside the airport by your private guide and driver. You will make your way to the Arenal volcano which is a 2 1/2 hour drive from the San Jose Airport. The Arenal Volcano is one of the must see's of Costa Rica and a lot to do in the area making it the perfect first stop for your six day adventure.

Our final destination today will be the Tabacon or Manoa Resort. The Tabacon is the more luxurious of the two and is home to what we consider the best hotsprings in all of Costa Rica. The Manoa Resort is beautiful with excellent views of the volcano. (Meals: None)

Zipline Adventure
July 2 -- Zipline & Canyoneering  (Tabacon Resort or Manoa Resort)

With only six days in the country we get the trip started off right with a day of adventure. We will begin by ziplining from mountain top to mountain top. With over 77 different ziplines in the country today we still consider this our top choice. This zipline offers some of the highest cables of up to 700ft along with breath-taking views of the Arenal Volcano and Arenal Lake.

After the morning of ziplining we will stop for lunch in one of our favorite spots and then do an afternoon of rappeling waterfalls down a tropical canyon. You will have the chance to do five different waterfalls with two of them measuring over 100ft each.

For those in the group not ready for the adventure you can enjoy a tram ride through the rainforest canopy while all others zipline. During the rappel we will have an optional nature hike to another waterfall or back to the hotel to relax in the hotsprings. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)

July 3 -- Drive to Manuel Antonio/Domincal Area (El Parador or Cuna del Angel)

Today you will make the drive to the Central Pacific. Depending on which hotel you decide you can stay in the beautiful but touristy area of Manuel Antonio in the El Parador Hotel or we can take you a little farther south to the Cuna del Angel located in the area of Dominical where the mountain meets the sea.

This is a travel day and we will arrive to the beach just after lunch where you will be able to enjoy the ocean in the afternoon. (Meals: Breakfast)

July 4 -- Raft Savegre - Manuel Antonio / Dominical (El Parador or Cuna del Angel)

Today is one of the reasons we love Costa Rica. We will take you rafting on one of the most beautiful rivers in

all of Costa Rica, hiking to waterfalls, and rowing through some great rapids, and have you at the beach for the sunset! This is a great day of two very different activities of rafting through the rainforest and spending the afternoon at the beach.

July 5 -- Fish & Beach Day - Manuel Antonio / Dominical (El Parador or Cuna del Angel)

Today we have open for some time at the beach or those interested in some fishing we can arrange a day on the water testing your luck with the fish. Either way its

July 6 -- Fly Home!

Today we will make the drive back to the San Jose Airport and catch your flight home and start planning the 3rd trip back to beautiful Costa Rica!

Gigi Family Adventure 2014

Day 1 --- Arenal - Lost Iguana Resort

Today you will be met at the airport by your private guide/driver and make the 2 1/2 hour drive to the area of the Arenal Volcano. You will be staying at the luxurious Lost Iguana which is home to some of the best views of the Arenal Volcano. (Meals: None)

Day 2 --- Arenal (Zipline & National Park ) - Lost Iguana Resort

We will get this trip started with one of the best adventures in all of Costa Rica. With over 77 different ziplines in the country we still think SkyTrek at Arenal is the best, with great views and some of the longest and fastest cables!

After the morning of zipping through the jungle we will make our way over to the National Park where we can take a hike on old lava flow. This is a nice hike through an area that is not overly crowded with tourists and it offers a glimpse at some of the best but hidden views of the volcano. 

In the afternoon you can spend some time in the thermal waters and in the evening we can take you out for dinner in the town of La Fortuna. (Meals: Breakfast)


Day 3 --- Arenal ( Caño Negro & Waterfall & Visit to The Springs Hotsprings for Dinner) - Lost Iguana Resort 

Today we are going to take you to a spot where we can promise you a lot of wildlife. Your guide will be pointing out all the different speices of monkeys and sloths as you float through the wetlands of the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge.

After the wildlife float we'll hike down 500 stairs to one of the most scenic waterfalls in Costa Rica. This is the La Fortuna Falls and you'll get a chance to swim at the pools in the bottom and take pictures with these marvelous falls in the backdrop. 

In the evening we will take you to one of the finest spots in the area with a meal and time to relax at The Springs Resort allowing you to have a nice dinner and time in some of the finest hotsprings in the area. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 4 --- Free Day - Lost Iguana Resort 

Well, after three days of fun we will be making this a free day. There is plenty to do in the area such as Stand Up Paddle board, canyoneering, horseback riding, and much more or you can relax around the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast)




Day 5 --- Travel to Beach (Cuna de Angel - Deluxe Room) 

Today you will wake up well rested and say your good-byes to the hotsprings and the Arenal Volcano which you develop a relationship with after a few days. We will make the drive to the area just south of Manuel Antonio around the Dominical and Uvita area. This is a bit less touristy spot but still close enough to everything and offers the mountain meeting the sea affect that we talked about on the phone.

This is one of the most beautiful coastal areas of the country and absolutely perfect for families looking to do a little more than just be beach bums. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 6 --- Raft Savegre (Cuna de Angel - Deluxe Room) 

One of our favorite activities is rafting and doing it in a half-day trip from the beach makes it that much more fun! We will leave in the morning and raft the Savegre River which is filled with some great rapids keeping everyone soaked from start to finish. This is considered the cleanest river in all of Central America and is a beautiful run with hikes to waterfalls and a river lunch.

In the afternoon we can watch the sunset at the beach and relax at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)



Day 7 --- Surf Classes (Cuna de Angel - Deluxe Room) 

Today we will head to the beach and test our skills in the water. We will have private surf lessons teaching us the basics on learning to surf. The afternoon will be spent perfecting our skills. For lunch we will take you to a nearby local surf spot for lunch. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 8 ---  Waterfall Rappel Nauyaca (Cuna de Angel - Deluxe Room)

Another one of our favorite tours is the Nauyaca Waterfall. This is a beautiful waterfall that measures up to 300ft and cascades in two falls making for one of the most scenic waterfall in all of the Americas. The access is a bit remote and we choose to rappel down into the falls from the top. After we rappel down into the falls we will then hike down to the bottom section and swim at the bottom of the falls. Here we will have lunch prepared for you and enjoy an unforgettable day of rappelling, swimming and buena vista.

In the afternoon it is back to the beach to have more time in the sand and catch another sunset. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)



Day 9 --- Free Day or Visit Volleyball Project (Cuna de Angel - Deluxe Room) 

Today we will get the best out of our last day. We will have a number of options or we can head into the touristy area of Manuel Antonio and make a visit to the park which has more people than monkeys, sometimes, but still a nice day trip if your looking for a relaxing day. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 10 -- Beach Day or Travel to San Jose o Visit Volleyball Project

Depending on your flight home on day 11 we can head back to San Jose and stay closer to the airport or we can spend the last night at the beach and head out in the morning. (Meals: Breakfast)

Father/Daugther Costa Rica Adventure March 16th - 23rd 2014

March 16 ---  Arrive & Drive to Casa Turire (Standard Room Casa Turire)



Today you will be met at the airport by your private guide in a luxurious modern 4x4. We will make the drive to the area of Turrialba. Assuming your flight is on time we will make it through the capital city with no traffic and arrive to the Turrialba area mid-afternoon. This is around a 2 hour drive to the hotel of Casa Turire. The hotel sits in a valley that is surrounded by lush green mountains and is at the base of the Turrialba Volcano which offers excellent views of the smoking volcano. 

We will suggest having dinner the first night in the Casa Turire Hotel which boast of having a very tasty restaurant. (Meals:None)


March 17 ----- Private Rafting Tour Section I & II Class Rapids (Standard Room  Casa Turire)

Today you will wake up and have breakfast at the Casa Turire Hotel. After breakfast your guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of the Casa Turire Hotel and transfer you to the area of La Cruz where we start our rafting adventure. This is a 30 minute drive to the area where we put into the river and 10 minutes on 4x4 roads. Once we arrive to the river bank your raft and guides will be waiting for you and we will put on our lifevest and be rafting down easy class II rapids for two hours. We will stop for some hikes to some waterfalls along with a lunch on the river. 

After the morning of rafting we will take out of the river where we will take a 5 minute hike to the car that will be waiting for us. From here we will drive another 10 minutes on a 4x4 road to the main road and 30 minutes back to the hotel from there.

We will be arriving back to the hotel around 3pm where you can relax and enjoy the pool, hot-tub, and hotel grounds. We can take you out for dinner in the evening or you can choose to eat at the hotel for a second night. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)

March 18 ----- Drive to Arenal Volcano (4 hour drive) and stay at Tabacon Resort

Today we will travel to the Arenal Volcano. This is one of the most scenic volcanos you will find anywhere. We will spend the morning traveling on some of Costa Rica's less mountainous roads but still have around a total of 40 minutes in the mountains. We will arrive to the Tabacon Resort early afternoon and you will have the chance to enjoy the hotsprings at the Resort which are the finest in the area. (Meals: Breakfast)

March 19 ----- Zipline Adventure (20 minute drive) through rainforest (Tabacon Suite)

Today is a short 20 minute drive to the zipline adventure. With over 70 different ziplines in the country and I can not say we have done them all (but we are close) this is still by far our favorite. It has the best views of the volcano and lake and is an unforgettable morning.

In the afternoon we can visit some more of the sites in the area or you can have the option of staying and relaxing in the hotsprings. 

For dinner we will be suggesting a reservation at Don Rufino's voted one of the best tasting places in all of Costa Rica. (Meals: Breakfast)

March 20 ----- Flight to Liberia - Private transfer 30 minutes to Hyatt Andaz (Bay View Twin Room) 

Today you will be transfered to the airport in the area and have your private direct flight to the Liberia airport. This is a 40 minute flight and we can depart at the hour or your choice. At the moment we have requested at
Hyatt Andaz
Andaz that they allow us to do an early check-in which make sense for you to fly early.  At the present moment check in is at 2pm which would make for a 12 noon flight. The time before can be spent in the hotsprings but we will wait on the response for the early check-in from the hotel to decide. From the Liberia airport it is another 30-40 minute drive to Hyatt Andaz. (Meals: Breakfast)

This is around a 30 minute drive where you will have mind-boggling views of the Central Valley along with a large Italian man named, Don Rafa. (Meals Included: Lunch & Dinner)

April 18th 2014 --- Casa Ranieri (Pacuare Rafting + River Lunch)
Today we will get started after breakfast and head to the Pacuare Ecolodge where you will get a chance to see Tom's stomping ground of where he houses his student groups and then spend the day rafting one of the most scenic rivers on the planet. In the afternoon it will be back to Casa Ranieri for another epic dinner by the world Famous chef "Doña Maria". (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

April 19th 2014 --- Travel to Arenal Volcano (Lodging at Tabacon Resort)
Today we will travel to the Arenal Volcano where you will be staying at the beautiful Tabacon Resort. This resort is located at the base of the volcano and is home to the best hotsprings in all of Costa Rica. (Meals: Breakfast)


April 20th 2014 --- Happy Easter, Zipline Sky Trek & La Fortuna waterfall (Tabacon Resort)

April 21st 2014 --- Travel to Manuel Antonio (Si Como No)
Today is a travel day to the Central Pacific coast area of Manuel Antonio. This is one of the best beaches in all of Costa Rica and filled with monkeys so Kathryn can take some really cool selfies with a monkey photo-bombing it. (Meals: Breakfast)

April 22nd 2014 --- Day off in Manuel Antonio (Lodging at Si Como No, Superior Room)

Community School of Davidson 2014 Costa Rica Adventure

July 10 ---- Arrive & Drive to Sitio de Mata (Homestays)

Today we will meet you outside of the airport and transfer you to the village of Sitio de Mata. Here you will be be re-united with all your friends and we will have a welcome dinner to get all the kids feeling at home right from the start. (Meals: Dinner)

July 11 ---- Community Service, Sitio de Mata (Homestays)

Today we will start the community service projects. The town council is meeting this week (Fe. 6th) to discuss different projects. The main one this year seems to be help with the community center which sits right next to the soccer field. There are a number of things that need to be done with it including, painting, laying tile, kitchen fix-up, and a garden around the outside. A few other projects that have come up are individual homes. The town council might suggest a few homes with elderly members that might need a ramp but can not afford it or different things that can be done. The school is also going to give a list of things that are needed.

Today we will apply some cream on the blisters and get back to work! We will plan on breaking up the work with soccer games, tortillas classes, and different activities with the community. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Today is the final day of community service. We will have things wrapping up around early afternoon CSD! (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

July 15 ---- Enter Pacuare River (Pacuare Ecolodge)

Today we will say good-bye to our friends and make our way to the Pacuare River. This will be a half day of rafting and fun as we make our way to the Pacuare Ecolodge. This is a beautiful spot with fabulous views of the Pacuare River Canyon. We will stop for lunch on the river and then continue rafting until we arrive to the lodge.

In the evening we will have a bonfire and enjoy the night in the jungle. This is not roughing it too bad as each cabin has their private bathroom and shower. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

July 16 ---- Community Service, local village (Pacuare Ecolodge)

Today we will be staying an entire day at the Pacuare Ecolodge. We will take a short hike through the jungle to a nearby village. Here we will have the chance to give back to a local village that never gets any visitors and will be a great way to cap off our days of Community Service. We will spend the morning painting the school and visiting with the kids of the village and then back to the lodge where we will swim in the river and get ready for another night in the rainforest. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

July 17 ---- Raft Pacuare & Travel to Arenal (Los Lagos)

Today we will head down the most scenic and adventurous part of the Pacuare River. Here the kids will spend the day rafting past beautiful waterfalls and canyons. When we take out of the river we will then travel to the famous Arenal Volcano. July 18 ---- Zipline & La Fortuna Falls (Los Lagos)
Zipline Adventure


Today we will mix some adventure with some sightseeing as we hop on what we consider the best zipline in Costa Rica. Not only does SkyTrek offer incredible views of the Arenal Volcano and Arenal Lake but it also gives everyone an adrenaline rush on cables that run from mountain to top mountain top.

In the afternoon we will have our swim suites on as we hike to the La Fortuna Waterfall. Here the kids can swim in the pools and get pictures of one of Costa Rica's most scenic waterfalls.

In the evening it is back to Los Lagos to relax in  the hotsprings before we take you out for a meal in the town of La Fortuna where you can walk around and souvenir shop after dinner. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)
Rio Celeste

July 19 ---- Hike to Rio Celeste (Los Lagos)

Today we will visit a less touristy spot of the area and experience one of the most unique places you will find anywhere in the world. We will hike to the Rio Celeste River, hotsprings, and waterfall. This is a great day of easy hiking through the rainforest ultimately arriving at a sky-blue looking river. We'll have a local lunch before heading back to the hotel to get us ready for our final night in Costa Rica! (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

July 20 ---- Fly Home!

Today we will make the trip back to the San Jose Airport. (Meals: Breakfast)
