ITINERARY
Day 1 – Dec-31st ---------------Arrival and drive to Heredia (Bouganvillea Hotel)
Arrive in San Jose and be met by your Costa Rican Resource bilingual guide right outside of the SJO customs area. Your transportation is private and very comfortable. We’ll drive to your Hotel Bougainvillea in the Central Valley (www.hb.co.cr), a very cozy hotel with amazing gardens. If your flight is early we’ll visit the Irazu Volcano.
(Meals included: none)Today we´ll go rafting on Pacuare river, this is one of the top ten rivers for rafting according with National Geographic, then we will drive to beautiful and peaceful perfect spot to be in contact with nature.

After breakfast we are going on a delicious tour! The tour will lead across a suspension bridge and a sector of the Tirimbina Forest to a former cacao-growing plot. During the hike, the natural and cultural history of the cacao tree is explained. Then at the plot we learn how the cacao fruit is transformed into chocolate. We can taste different kinds of chocolate, which are prepared on the spot in the traditional way.

Day 4 – Jan- 3rd ---------------------------------------------- Drive to Arenal area (Casa Luna Hotel)
Today we’ll drive to La Fortuna, the town at the base of the Arenal Volcano. Your hotel has an excellent view of the volcano (www.casalunahotel.com).

Day 5 – Jan- 4th ------------------------------------------------- Río Celeste hike (Casa Luna Hotel)
Today we´ll be going on a hike to a beautiful place with a very unique river. It is an incredible turquoise color. This place is Río Celeste and it is located about 1 hour from your hotel.

Today the guide will take you for an easy hike in the Arenal Volcano National Park. This is primary forest trails and you will be able to walk on the cold old lava, and have a great view of the Arenal Lake.

Day 7 – Jan- 6th -------------------------------------------Relax day and Hot Springs! (Casa Luna Hotel)
Today you can relax at the hotel, enjoy the pool or the SPA. Also your guide can take you souvenir shopping in La Fortuna town. In the evening we are going to the hot springs at the Springs Resort. This is a great place to relax and have a delicious buffet dinner.

Day 8 – Jan- 7th ------------------------------ Drive to Manuel Antonio Beach (Costa Verde Hotel)
Today we’ll drive to the Pacific Coast, (about five hrs.). Manuel Antonio area is home to the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. The drive might sound long, but we make stops whenever you want. (www.costaverde.com) Studio rooms with kitchenette. During the next three days you are in Manuel Antonio, the guide will be taking you to the listed activities and will be available to take you wherever and whenever you want to go and do anything else.

Day 9 – Jan- 8th --------------------------Snorkeling at Manuel Antonio Beach (Costa Verde Hotel)
Today we’ll take you snorkeling around the warm waters of Manuel Antonio. You’ll enjoy the underwater volcanic rock formations, pyramids, canyons, and endless array of fauna and flora fun. Advanced or beginners, everyone can enjoy this marine festival.

Day 10 – Jan- 9th ------------------------------------ Manuel Antonio National Park (Costa Verde Hotel)
Today we will visit the Manuel Antonio National Park. Our guide will introduce you to some very interesting creatures and the hidden life of nature in the park. We can spend some time at this amazing beach.

Day 11 – Jan- 10th ------------------------------------------------------- Beach day (Costa Verde Hotel)
Today is a beach day!!.

Day 12 – Jan- 11th ---------------------------------------- Drive to Central Valley & Fly Home.
We’ll drive back to the Central Valley and to the airport for your flight home.
