Costa Rica Family Adventure

Day 1 ------- Arrive and Drive to Arenal Volcano (Manoa Resort)
Arenal Volcano

Today your private guide and driver will meet you outside the airport and you will make the two hour drive to the famous Arenal Volcano. Your final destination will be the Manoa Resort which is home to excellent views of the volcano and a great mix of luxury with beautiful gardens. When you arrive everyone will have a room with breathtaking views of the volcano. The resort also has its own hotsprings that you can use. (Meals: None)

Day 2 ------- Zipline & Nature Reserve (Manoa Resort)

With over 70 different ziplines in the country I have to say this is still my favorite. It is 700ft high and eight different cables. the last one is 1km long. The views from these cables are spectacular as you will experience the lake of Arenal, not too mention the perfectly cone-shaped Arenal Volcano. After the zipline we will take you to one of our favorite places to eat in the town of La Fortuna, called Don Rufinos. Here you'll enjoy a great lunch before we head to a nearby nature reserve. At the Danaus Reserve your naturalist guide will take you on a short easy hike and show you some of Costa Rica's most spectacular residents like the sloths, tree frogs, poisonous dart frogs, and much more. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 3 ------- Canyoneering Adventure & HotSprings (Manoa Resort)

If you enjoyed the zipline then you will love the canyoneering adventure. A chance to be immersed in the jungle and make your way down one of Costa Rica's most beautiful canyons. With this adventure you rappel down five different waterfalls and two of them measure over 120ft. In the afternoon you will have a chance to relax as we take you out for dinner and the hotsprings.  The Springs Resort, a real 6-star hotel, has excellent food and probably the best hotsprings in the country. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Villa Blanca
Day 4 ------- Travel to Cloudforest (Villa Blanca Hotel)

The best part about Costa Rica is that you can travel for just one hour and experience completely different landscape and weather. Today we'll go deep into the cloudforest and be staying at one of my favorite hotels called Villa Blanca. This is actually the former vacation home of one of the presidents of Costa Rica. It is now a small hotel and described as a beautiful lodge in the mist of the cloudforest. One of the main attractions here will be walking through the cloudforest at night on a night hike. There is an entirely different world that comes out at night. This hotel has one of the best restuarants in the country and a great spot to just relax with the family. (Meals: Breakfast)

Poas Volcano Crater
Day 5 ------- Relax at the Hotel (Villa Blanca Hotel)

Today is your day to enjoy the cloudforest and relax with the family. One option would be to add a day tour on this day which might include a visit to the nearby Poas Volcano Crater and a coffee tour. If you want some more adventure then maybe a horseback ride or a rappel down a 220ft waterfall!!! (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 6 ------- Travel to Beach (Cuna del Angel Hotel)

Today we will travel to the Central Pacific just south of an area of Dominical. You will be staying in the Cuna del Angel Hotel which is a small hotel and a great fit for a small family group like yours. The location has you just minutes away from beautiful beaches and many fun activities. (Meals: Breakfast)

Surfs Up Dawn!
Day 7 ------- Beach Day (Cuna del Angel)

There are many beaches in the area to explore some of my favorites are Parque Ballena and the whales tail or Playa Ventanas. Just to the north, we an make a day trip to the famous Manuel Antonio National Park or we can just relax in the many nearby beaches that are by the hotel. This is a beach day and surf lessons is always a great option for those interested. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 8 ------- Raft Savegre River (Cuna del Angel)

Rafting with CRR
Today it is back to the adventure as we get ready for a rafting trip down the Savegre River. This is a beautiful river and the class II & III rapids will get everyone wet for sure but we will keep you in the boat. The river is surrounded by primary rainforest and has some great waterfall hikes you can enjoy on your way down. This is a great day on the water appreciating all the natural beauty. And when you work up an appetite, your CRR guides will prepare their famous river lunch for you. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)
Happy Holiday's Dawn

Day 9 ------- Beach Day (Cuna del Angel)

Today is another day to relax at the beach and if you wanted to fill it with an activity there is much to do in the area. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 10 ------ Fly Home!

Depending on your flight time we will make the drive back to the San Jose airport (SJO) today or we will leave on day 9 and stay close to the airport. It is a 3 hour drive back to San Jose from Cuna del Angel. (Meals: Breakfast)

When we finish we'll take out and enjoy a nice lunch and then drive to a mountain lodge in one of Costa Rica's highest point for a lodge. Today your adventure guide will meet you at the airport. I will transfer you to the first hotel which is located in the mountains of Heredia just 30 minutes from the airport. Here you will get a chance to rest up and your guide will go over some instructions for the week to get you ready for the adventures. Day 2 ------------- Drive to Dominical (Villas Gaia)

Today is a travel day to Dominical. It will only take a couple of hours and there will be some stops along the way to make it interesting. It is a beautiful drive and when you arrive you will have  time to visit the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. You will be staying in a very nice hotel on a river and in walking distance to the beach. There is an absolutely amazing view from the pool of the endless blue Pacific Ocean. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 3 ------------ Zipline, Tarzan Swing, & Visit the Beach (Villas Rio Mar)

Waterfall Rappel
Today you will be doing one of the better ziplines in Costa Rica. I have to put this one up there with my favorites. The cables for the zipline are high and fast but the best part about this adventure is the tarzan swing. Yes that is right you will be doing a tarzan swing that is on a ridge 1,000ft above sea-level looking out over the southern part of Costa Rica. One of the more scenic places you can possibly imagine in Costa Rica. After the tarzan swing we will take you to a beautiful beach called Ventanas which means windows and happens to be one of a kind when it comes to beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 4 ------------ Enter Cavern & Rappel Waterfall (Sleep Behind a Waterfall)

Well, let the adventure begin. We will take the car off-roading and arrive to the point where the car can go no farther. It is here where we begin to hike our way up the ridge and finally reach a place that you will never forget. This is truly one of the most beautiful places in the America's and you will be staying here for the night. When we arrive we will be setting up ropes and rappeling down a waterfall and then sleeping behind the same waterfall in a large cavern. Take a look at the video: Costa Rica Sleeping behind a waterfall in the Diamante Canyon (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 5 ------------ Hike to Pools and then drive to Turrialba (Turrialba Hotel)

Pacaure River Canyon
Today we will hike to the pools where you will get the chance to jump off a waterfall that is 20ft high into a beautiful pristine pool. This is a nice little hike and well worth the visit to even more and more beautiful jungle and waterfalls. After the hike we will head out of the cavern after a nice hearty lunch and then on to the next stop which is Turrialba. Here you will be staying in the town which is over looked by one of Costa Rica's tallest and smoking volcano--the Turrialba Volcano. (Meals: Breakfast  & Lunch)

Day 6 ------------ Enter Pacuare River 2-Day Rafting Trip (Camp Pacuare River)

Today we will start the day by doing some more off-roading and arriving to the top part of Costa Rica's most favous river the Pacuare River. I have been running this river for 10 years and it is still one of the things I enjoy doing in my spare time along with hanging out with my black Lab. When it comes to running the river there is nothing better than just spending the night on it. After our morning rafting trip down the river we'll enjoy a picnic lunch on the side of the river then wind up staying at a camp-site that is by no means roughing it. There are very nice bathrooms set up and all tents are above ground. Myself and some other guides will be preparing dinner for you and get everything set for another amazing night in the jungle surrounded by nature.

Day 7 ------------ Raft Pacuare Canyon and drive to airport hotel (Airport Hotel)

Pacuare Camping in the Jungle
Today is the serious day of rafting. We will be visiting the part of this river that makes it famous and it is called the Pacuare Canyon. It is filled with beautiful waterfalls and walls that run straight up where the river has carved its way through the jungle over million of years. After we make our way through the canyon we will then go through another beautiful national park called Braulio Carrillo which connects to the San Jose area.  Here you will be staying at an airport hotel for flight home on Day 8. (Meals: Breakfast and Lunch)
