Sisler Costa Rica Sample Adventure Wildlife/River/Camping

Observatory Lodge
Day 1 --- Arrive and Drive to Arenal Volcano (Observatory Lodge)

Today we will meet you outside of the San Jose Airport and we'll drive to the Arenal Volcano. Because of your interest in wildlife and biodiversity we decided on the Observatory Lodge. This offers a true jungle feel next to the Arenal National Park and excellent views of the volcano. (Meals: None)

Day 2 --- Zipline & Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge  (Observatory Lodge)

Zipline Adventure
This is a day of adventure and wildlife. You will have time to rest and enjoy breakfast with the views of the volcano. We will then head to the nearby zipline adventure. With over 70 ziplines in Costa Rica now, this is still by far one of our favorites. The cables are high and fast, the veiws are spectacular, and the operation and safety is second to none.

After the morning of zipping through the rainforest we'll have lunch in the town of La Fortuna where you can walk the streets and visit some of the local shops. We'll then head to north to the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge where we promise you a dense population of birds, monkeys, and sloths. This is a great afternoon of floating around on our private boat as your naturalist guide teaches you the many wonders of the tropical rainforest. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 3 --- Danaus Reserve & Travel to Mollejones Camp (Camp Mollejones)

Mollejones Campsite
Today our final destination will be a spot where we camp at the top of the Pacuare River canyon. We happen to think this is one of the best camp spots in Costa Rica where the views are astonishing of the entire Pacuare River Canyon. As we are leaving the Arenal Volcano area we will first stop at a small reserve where you will get an up close look at the smaller species of the rainforest. Here your naturalist will take you on a short walk to see poisonous dart frogs, butterflies, and more species of birds. This is a great hike to see a lot in a small area.

We will arrive to the campsite around 3pm where we will spend the afternoon getting ready for the evening, preparing food, getting the fire started, and enjoying the views of the smoking Turrialba volcano in the distance. (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Pacuare River
Day 4 --- Raft Pacuare & Kayak class II & III (Pacuare Ecolodge)

Today we will be just minutes away from the put in of the Pacuare River where we can have kayaks for you to spend the first half of the day kayaking class II & III rapids. We will arrive to our private Ecolodge on the river where we will be spending the night with some of the finest views on the river (we are big on views in case you haven't noticed). This will be another night in the jungle but what we consider the best stop of the week and yes, we are a little bias because it is our own Ecolodge. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 5 --- Raft Pacuare Canyon & Drive to Almonds & Corals (Almonds & Corals)

Today we will have breakfast at the lodge and then make our way down the Pacuare Canyon class IV in rafts. This is a great three hour run and the most scenic part of the river considered by National Geographic as one of the top five most scenic on the planet.

We will take out of the river after lunch and then make the drive to the Caribbean coast where you'll be staying at the luxurious ecolodge, Almonds & Corals. This is one of our favorite ecolodges anywhere in Costa Rica completely immersed in the rainforest and only steps away from white sandy beaches. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)
Costa Rican Resource Pacuare Ecolodge

Day 6 --- Lowland Tropical Rainforest Hike (Almonds & Corals)

Today we are going to take a hike with a local naturalist from the Caribbean side. Here you are going to learn a bit about local customs, animals, plants and life of the Afro-Caribbean culture found in the area.On this hike you'll see a lot of wildlife with vast views of the the beautiful white sandy beaches and clear blue waters of the Caribbean.

In the afternoon you can relax at the beach or maybe we can try some surf classes. (Meals: Breakfast)

Cahuita National Park

Day 7 --- Cahuita National Park & Drive to San Jose (Grano de Oro)

Today we will head back to the San Jose area and our final destination will be one of our favorite hotels, Grano de Oro. A small luxurious boutique hotel with one of the best restaurants in the country.

We will first stop for a visit to the Cahuita National Park where you will walk barefoot through the park, see more wildlife, and experience more beautiful beaches. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 8 --- Fly Home!

Today we'll transfer you to the San Jose Airport for your flight home. (Meals: Breakfast)
